PAYMENTS & SETTLEMENT
Payments & Settlement
What is live now
- Job posting, matching, interest, agreement and chat.
- Agreed job price is recorded between the two people.
- Provider payout follows requester approval and configured settlement checks. Instant bank credit is not promised.
The four money states (shown separately)
- Payment confirmed — the payment provider told our server the payment succeeded.
- Work completed — the provider marked the work done and the requester confirmed.
- Payment released — Koochbhi instructed payout to the worker.
- Bank credited — the worker's bank/UPI received the money. We show this only when we have evidence of the credit.
Live PayU integration: details requiring verification
- Who the merchant / payment recipient is and the payment provider (PayU) arrangement.
- How money is collected and what triggers release.
- Onboarding / KYC needed to receive money, and the settlement beneficiary.
- Expected bank-credit time, and what happens if a payout fails.
Details: PayU integration: company confirms live. Merchant legal identity, settlement beneficiary, fees, refund method, and expected bank-credit timing: awaiting documentary verification
Before you pay you will see
Who the provider is, the scope of work, the total amount, a breakdown of fee / tax / materials / travel, and the provider's net earnings.
What we do not claim
Koochbhi does not currently claim escrow, instant payout, insurance, or a guaranteed refund time. We will not do so unless our contract and the live system support it.
Cancellations and refunds: Cancellation & Refunds. Problems: Report an issue.
Important payment distinction
A price agreed between users is not proof that money has been collected. A payment-provider success notice is not proof that a worker has received funds. Completion of work, payment release and bank credit are separate events. Users should rely on the displayed transaction status and independently retain their receipt or payment reference. Do not treat an agreed job price as a completed real-money payment without a verified provider transaction confirmation. For a payment discrepancy use Report an issue with the Job ID and transaction reference; never provide an OTP, card number or PIN.
Marketplace payment and commission model
For paid in-platform jobs, the requester agrees a service scope and price and pays through PayU, not directly to the provider. PayU processes the payment under its applicable merchant settlement arrangement. Koochbhi does not describe these funds as a personal wallet or guarantee legally regulated escrow protection.
After work, the provider marks the task complete and the requester confirms satisfactory completion. Only then should provider payout be authorized, subject to actual payment-provider settlement controls. Koochbhi commission varies from 10% to 20% depending on the job; the actual rate and the provider net amount must be displayed before acceptance. Example: at 10% on ₹100, Koochbhi receives ₹10 and the provider is allocated ₹90, before any separately disclosed applicable taxes or charges.
Payment success, authorization to release, and bank credit are different events. Automatic settlement and bank-credit timing require confirmation from the PayU production configuration. A disputed or uncompleted task should not trigger ordinary payout release pending review, subject to payment network and statutory rules.
If the job is cancelled, not performed, deficient or contested, parties can use Report an issue. Koochbhi can review the evidence and facilitate rework, partial payment, or refund where justified. No refund is ordinarily due merely for a change of mind after satisfactory completion and acceptance; statutory rights for deficient service and other legally required remedies remain unaffected. See Cancellation & Refunds.
PayU split-settlement onboarding, the merchant and settlement beneficiaries, automated release, payout credit and the precise fee display still require operational verification before certification.
